The Coelogyne huettneriana belongs to Orcidaceae (the Orchid family). It is an evergreen herb that is distributed to Burma, Thailand, Laos and Vietnam in south-eastern Asia. This herb is an epiphyte and grows in the forests and rocky areas at elevations of 1100 to 1200 m. It bloom in the spring with four to eight, 5 cm wide flowers. The flowers are fragrant with a musky scent.
