ヨーロッパの地中海沿岸から小アジアに分布しています。山地の疎林に生え、高さは5〜10センチほどになります。細長い心臓形の葉は浅裂し、銀色の斑と長い葉柄があります。夏の終わりから秋にかけて、淡い紫色の花を咲かせます。 
サクラソウ科シクラメン属の多年草で、学名は Cyclamen hederifolium。英名は Hardy cyclamen。 
The Hardy cyclamen (Cyclamen hederifolium) belongs to Primulaceae (the Primrose family). It is a perennial herb that is native to the European coastal areas of the Mediterranean Sea and Asia Minor. This herb grows in montane sparse forests and can reach 5-10 cm in height. The leaves are elongated cordate, silvery mottled and divided into lobes with long petioles. The pale purple flowers bloom from late summer to fall.
