エクアドルからコロンビア、ペルーのアンデス山脈に分布しています。湿り気のある山地に生え、這い性のある茎で伸び、長さは45センチほどになります。葉は三角状で、少しばかり毛が生えています。夏の終わりから晩秋にかけて、穂状花序をだして、青色の筒状花を咲かせます。
シソ科アキギリ属の常緑多年草で、学名は Salvia scutellarioides。英名はありません。
The Salvia scutellarioides belongs to Lamiaceae (the Mint family). It is an everegreen perennial herb that is native to the Andes Mountains in Ecuador, Columbia and Peru. This herb grows in wettish mountains and can reach about 45 cm in length with trailing stems. The leaves are deltoid and lightly covered with hairs. The blue tubular flowers bloom in the spikes from late summer to late fall.
