メキシコのオアハカ州に分布しています。標高2000メートル以上の山地に生え、高さは1.5〜1.8メートルになります。葉は三角状で、ごわごわした質感です。夏から秋にかけて、長い総状花序をだし、濃い青紫色の花を咲かせます。下唇には、より濃い青紫色の斑があります。萼片は赤紫色です。
シソ科アキギリ属の常緑小低木で、学名は Salvia semiatrata。英名はありません。
The Salvia semiatrata belongs to Lamiaceae (the Mint family). It is an evergreen shrub that is native to Mexico; Oaxaca. This shrub grows in mountains up to 2000 m elevation and can reach 1.5-1.8 m in height. The leaves are triangular and rough textured. The long racemes are borne on the terminal branches and bloom dark violet flowers from summer to fall. The lo wer lip has darker violet-blue blotch. The calyx is magenta.
