スマトラ原産で樹高は１０メートルほどになります。幹の部分が朱色をしていて、その昔、中国で封印に使われていた赤い蝋の色に似ているため、ワックスパームという別名があります。 |

ヤシ科ショウジョウヤシ属の常緑中高木で、学名は Cyrtostachys renda。英名は、Red sealing wax palm。 |

The Red sealing wax palm (Cyrtostachys renda) belongs to Arecaceae (the Palm family). It is a semi-tall evergreen tree that is native to Sumatra, the tree is about 10 m tall. It is also known as wax palm because its trunk is vermilion in color, similar to the color of red wax used to seals in China in ancient times. |
