わが国の本州、福島県から群馬・長野県に分布しています。山地の林縁や草地に生え、高さは70〜150センチになります。茎や花柄は紫褐色を帯びます。葉は3〜4回3出複葉で互生し、小葉は3裂します。7月から8月ごろ、円錐花序をだし、紅紫色の花を咲かせます。花弁状の萼片が4〜5個あります。
キンポウゲ科カラマツソウ属の多年草で、学名は Thalictrum rochebrunianum。英名はありません。
"Shikin-karamatsu" (Thalictrum rochebrunianum) belongs to Ranunculaceae (the Buttercup family). It is a perennial herb that is native to Fukushima, Gunma and Nagano prefecture of Honshu in Japan. This herb grows in mountainous forest edges or grasslands, and can reach 70-120 cm in height. The stems and peduncles are tinged purple brown. The leaves are triternate to tetraternate compound, arranged alternately with trolobate leaflets. The panicles are borne and the magenta flowers bloom from July to August. The flower has 4-5 petaloid sepals.
