The Wavy plantain lily (Hosta undulata) belongs to Liliaceae (the Lily family). It is a perennial herb that is "Giboushi" (plantain lily), a plant with a history of selective breeding in Japan dating back to the Edo period (1603-1868). Its leaves are green with wavy edges and feature beautiful white variegation. From early summer through midsummer, it produces pale purple flowers at the tips of its flower stalks.
