メキシコ南部のチアパス州に分布しています。標高９００〜１２００メートルの山地にある「パイン」と「オーク」の森にごく希に生え、高さは６メートルほどになります。温帯から亜熱帯の気候に適応しています。葉は明るい緑色で、大きな羽状複葉を形成します。 |

ソテツ科サゴソテツ属の常緑低木で、学名は Dioon merolae。英名はありません。 |

|
The Dioon merolae belongs to Cycadaceae (the Cycad family). It is a small evergreen tree that is native to Chiapas in southern Mexico. It grows rarely in pine and oak forests, at 900-1200 m elevation. This tree is well adapted to teperate to sub-tropical climate, and can reach about 6 m in height. The leaves are bright green, large, pinnately compound. |
