Tulbaghia fragrans

Tulbaghia fragrans

Tulbaghia fragrans

Tulbaghia simmleri)。英名は Sweet garlic。
The Sweet garlic (Tulbaghia fragrans) belongs to Liliaceae (the Lily family). It is a perennial herb that is native to South Africa. The leaves are string-like, fleshy, and tinged with white powder throughout. When the leaves are damaged, it smells like "garlic". From November to April and from July to September, large umbels are borne and bloom pale purple flowers with a fragrance similar to gardenia. The scent is especially strong in the evening.
