ワイヤープランツ [Index] [Back] ニュージーランドやオーストラリアのタスマニア州、ニューサウスウェールズ州それにビクトリア州に分布しています。砂利や岩場、開けた草地などに生え、直径１メートル以上の針金のようなマットを形成します。葉は小さな円形からほぼ四角形で、直径は１センチ未満です。７月ごろ、黄白色の花を咲かせます。花は雌雄異株です。果実は非常に小さな黒色の液果で、食べることができます。 タデ科ミューレンベッキア属の常緑小低木で、学名は Muehlenbeckia axillaris。英名は Creeping wire vine。 The Creeping wire vine (Muehlenbeckia axillaris) belongs to Polygonaceae (the Knotweed family). It is an evergreen shrub that is native to New Zealand, and Tasmania, New South Wales and Victoria in Australia. This shrub grows on gravelly and rocky places and open grassland, and form wiry mats up to about 1 m in diameter. The leaves are small round to squirish, less than 1 cm in diameter.
