うさぎぎく (兎菊)

わが国の本州、中部地方以北から北海道それに千島列島に分布しています。高山帯の草地や砂礫地に生え、高さは１５～２５センチになります。根生葉は倒披針形で、茎葉は対生します。茎や葉は柔らかな毛で被われています。７月から９月ごろ、茎の先に黄色い花を咲かせます。名前は、春に芽生えたころの葉のかたちから。 |

キク科ウサギギク属の多年草で、学名は Arnica unalaschcensis var. tschonoskyi。英名はありません。 |

"Usagi-giku" (Arnica unalaschcensis var. tschonoskyi) belongs to Asteraceae (the Aster family). It is a perennial herb that is distributed northward from Chubu districtof Honshu to Hokkaido and the Kuril Islands. This herb grows in alpine grasslands and screes, and can reach 15-25 cm in height. The basal leaves are oblanceolate and the cauline leaves are opposite. The stems and leaves are covered with soft hairs. The yellow flowers bloom atop of stems from June to September. The Japanese name is derived from the leaf shape which sprouting in the spring. |
