なぎなたがや (長刀茅) [Index] [Back] ヨーロッパが原産です。わが国へは、明治時代の初期に帰化しました。現在では、南北アメリカや南アフリカ、オーストラリアなどに帰化しています。桿は基部で分枝して、高さは５０センチほどになります。葉は幅１ミリほどの線形で、縁は内側に巻き込みます。春から夏にかけて、桿の先に長さ２０センチほどの穂状花序をだし、多数の小穂をつけます。 イネ科ナギナタガヤ属の一・二年草で、学名は Vulpia myuros。英名は Rattail fescue。 The rattail fescue (Vulpia myuros) belongs to Poaceae (the Grass family). It is an annual or biennial herb that is native to Eupore. It was introduced into Japan in the early Meiji Era (about 140 years old). Nowadays, it is also naturalized in South and North America, South Africa and Australia. The stem is branched from the base, and can reach about 50 cm in height. The leaves are linear, about 1mm across and the edges convolute inside.
