 
 わが国の各地をはじめ、朝鮮半島や中国、アムール地方に分布して
います。山地の沢沿いなどに生え、蔓性で大きく成長します。葉は楕
円形で堅く、縁には細かい鋸歯があります。５月から７月ごろ、直径１
〜１．５センチの白い花を咲かせます。雌雄異株または雌雄雑居性
です。小さな果実は円形から楕円形で、秋に熟して食べられます。
マタタビ科マタタビ属の落葉蔓性低木で、学名は Actinidia arguta。
英名は Bower actinidia, Hardy kiwi, Tara vine。
Bower actinidia belongs to Actinidiaceae (Kiwi fruit family). It is a
deciduous viny small tree that is distributed through Japan to Korean
Peninsula, China and Amurskaya. This tree occurs in dales and grow up.
Leaves are elliptic with fine toothed edges. White flowers 1-1.5 cm in
diameter come in May to July. It is dioecism or polygamy. Small fruits are
round to elliptic, ripen in fall and edible.
