とうごくさいしん (東国細辛) [Index] [Back] わが国の本州、関東地方北部から東北地方に分布しています。山地の落葉広葉樹の林床に生え、高さは１５〜２５センチになります。地上を這う茎の先から２個の葉をだします。葉は心形で薄く、先端は尖って、長い葉柄があります。４月から５月ごろ、茎先に１個の花を咲かせます。花に花弁はなく、萼裂片が花弁状になります。萼筒は扁球形になり暗い小豆色、部分的に濃淡があり斑です。この萼裂片の先端が、絞ったように尖るのを特徴としています。従来、本州の関東地方北部から東北地方で「うすばさいしん」とされてきたのは、２００７年に「とうごくさいしん（東国細辛）」として新種に分けられました。  ウマノスズクサ科カンアオイ属の多年草で、学名は Asarum tohokuense。英名はありません。  "Tougoku-saishin" (Asarum tohokuense) belongs to Aristolochiaceae (the Birthwort family). It is a perennial herb that is distributed from the northern part of the Kanto region to the Tohoku region of Honshu, Japan. It grows on the floor of deciduous broad-leaved trees in mountainous areas and grows 15 to 25 cm tall. It produces two leaves from the tip of a stem that creeps along the ground. The leaves are heart-shaped, thin, and pointed at the tip with a long petiole. The flower has no petals and the calyx lobes are petal-like. The calyx tube is oblong, reddish brown, and mottled with partial shading. The tip of the calyx lobes is pointed, as if it were squeezed.
