 
 「ジンジャー」は熱帯・亜熱帯の植物ですが、ショウガ科とオオホザキ
アヤメ科に属するものがあります。本種はオオホザキアヤメ科に属し
ます。インドネシアが原産で、高さは３．５メートルほどになります。硬
い蝋質の深紅の苞のなかに、黄色い花を咲かせます。
オオホザキアヤメ科タペイノキルス属の多年草で、学名は
Tapeinochilus ananasae。英名は Indonesian wax ginger。
Indonesian wax ginger belongs to Costaceae (Costus family). It is a
perennial herb that is native to Indonesia. 'Ginger' is a tropical or semi-
tropical plants, belongs to Zingiberaceae (Ginger family) or Costaceae. This
herb can reach about 3.5 m in height. Yellow flowers come in deep red,
hard and waxy bracts.
